Public holidays fall on Labour Day (June 19) and Corpus Christi (June 15). Labour Day celebrations are marked by members of the trade union movement parading through the streets, while Corpus Christi, or "Body of Christ", is a Christian religious feast, which also draws many faithful to participate in grand processions through the streets, culminating with Mass in many of the island’s churches. Tobago honours the Feast of St. Peter, patron saint of seamen, for the Fisherman’s Day celebrations in the quiet village of Charlotteville.
